Wattson’s return to Houston follows successful development of River Oaks District

(HOUSTON, TX)— McCord Development, a Houston-based and family-owned real estate development and management company, is pleased to announce Greg Wattson has joined the company’s leadership team as Senior Director of Development. In this role, he will be focused on driving new development endeavors at Generation Park, McCord’s 4,300-acre master planned commercial district.

Wattson has three decades of real estate experience and has delivered over 6.3MM square feet of retail, mixed-use, commercial, residential, and industrial projects. Some notable mixed-use projects he led include the River Oaks District in Houston, Texas, The Shops at Buckhead in Atlanta, Georgia and The Shops at Tanforan in San Bruno, California.

“We’re extremely proud and excited to have Greg on board. His experience with successful mixed-use projects in Houston and around the country will be a tremendous asset to the team as we expand Redemption Square and plan other lifestyle districts throughout Generation Park,” said Ryan McCord, President of McCord Development.

Wattson joins McCord with a full plate of projects to undertake at Generation Park. His first efforts will be delivering new properties that are connected to The Ray, a 4-mile pedestrian superhighway that loops the west side of the development. The first such project is a ±65,000 SF Cell and Gene Therapy Micromanufacturing GMP Facility. This facility will house the first phase of San Jacinto College’s Biotech Training Center. Additional projects include a ±300,000 SF retail expansion of Redemption Square, Generation Park’s 80-acre mixed-use district, BioHub Two, ±250 units of mixed-use multifamily, ±100,000 SF of spec flex-industrial, and an 8,600 SF wedding and events venue and adjacent bar that overlook West Lake Park.

“I am thrilled to return to Houston and help Ryan and the McCord Development team take Generation Park to the next level,” said Greg Wattson.
